One of the biggest challenges that Covid has brought to Dover Road this year has been the lack of available offsite facilities, particularly during lockdown. This has seriously affected the delivery of PE and LOTC, so we’ve had to get creative and try some new things to bring students an engaging curriculum at Dover Road.

Support from Mr. Brown with site risk assessments and necessary training, has enabled us to deliver bush craft lessons using the outdoor space on the Dover Road site.

Students have been able to erect shelters to protect them from the elements.

We’ve been learning the difference between matchsticks, pencils and thumbs.

We’ve also been learning how to safely create fires for warmth, heating water and cooking food.
